Discovery
What are Signals
Signals are automated discovery rules that continuously find new leads on LinkedIn matching your target criteria.
Signals are the engine behind Obert's lead discovery. Instead of manually searching LinkedIn for prospects, you define what you're looking for once, and Obert finds matching people on an ongoing basis.
How signals work
- You define the criteria. Choose a signal type (keyword search, post engagers, event attendees, etc.) and configure the parameters.
- Obert scans automatically. Signals run on a schedule, searching LinkedIn through your connected accounts.
- Leads are scored and added. Discovered profiles are scored against your ICP, added to your lead database, and optionally routed to specific lists.
Each time a signal runs, it creates a signal run — a record of what was found, how many leads were added, and which were duplicates.
Signal types
Obert supports several discovery methods, each suited to different prospecting strategies:
| Type | What it finds | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Keyword Search | People matching a LinkedIn search query | Broad prospecting by job title, industry, or skill |
| Sales Navigator | Results from a saved Sales Navigator search | Advanced filtering with Sales Nav criteria |
| Influencer | People who engage with specific influencers' posts | Finding active buyers in your space |
| Profile Viewers | People who viewed your LinkedIn profile | Warm leads showing intent |
| Event Attendees | Attendees of a LinkedIn event | Targeting event-based audiences |
| Company Search | Employees at specific companies | Account-based prospecting |
Signal lifecycle
Signals have three states:
- Active — running on schedule, discovering leads
- Paused — temporarily stopped, can be resumed
- Disabled — permanently stopped
You can pause and resume signals at any time without losing configuration or history.
