Create a search

Set up a social listening search and schedule when it runs.

A search finds posts that match your rules and adds them to that search's Posts tab.

  1. Click Social Listening in the left sidebar.
  2. Click New Search.
  3. Pick a source: LinkedIn, Hacker News, or GitHub.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Choose a search type:
    • Keyword search — match terms in post content (and author filters on LinkedIn).
    • Brand mention — track when specific companies or profiles are mentioned (LinkedIn only).
    • From author — posts from selected LinkedIn profiles or companies (LinkedIn only).
  6. Click Next, then set keywords, brands, authors, and post content filters on the configuration step.
  7. Click Next again to open Schedule runs.
  8. Click Create search.

After creation, Obert asks whether to run now or wait for the schedule.

Go live

Open the search from the list. While it is a draft or paused, click Go Live or Resume in the header. Use Pause to stop new runs without deleting the search.

The search header has Posts and Configuration tabs. Configuration is where you edit filters and the run schedule.

Searches list

The searches table uses Search searches..., Filter, Sort, and Save. Columns include Name, Source, Type, Volume (7d), Status, and Next run. Status values are Active, Paused, and Draft.

Select a row and use the selection bar to pause, resume, duplicate, or delete searches.
