Quickstart

Connect a LinkedIn account, create a signal, and see your first leads in under 10 minutes.

This guide walks you through the fastest path to value: connect your LinkedIn account, create a signal to discover leads, and review the results.

Prerequisites

  • An Obert account (sign up at app.obert.io)
  • A LinkedIn account you'll use for prospecting

Step 1: Connect your LinkedIn account

  1. Open Settings from the bottom of the left sidebar.
  2. Click Accounts in the settings menu.
  3. Click Connect Account.
  4. Follow the LinkedIn authentication flow and authorize Obert.
  5. Once connected, your account appears in the list with a green "Connected" status.

You can connect multiple LinkedIn accounts later. For now, one is enough to get started.

Step 2: Create your first signal

Signals continuously find new leads matching your criteria. Start with a keyword signal — it's the simplest to set up.

  1. Click Signals in the left sidebar.
  2. Click Create Signal.
  3. Choose Keyword Search as the signal type.
  4. Enter a keyword that describes your target audience — for example, "VP of Sales" SaaS.
  5. Select the LinkedIn account you just connected.
  6. Click Save and Activate.

Obert starts searching immediately. You'll see results within a few minutes.

Step 3: Review your leads

  1. Click Leads in the left sidebar.
  2. Switch to the Pending Approval tab.
  3. Review each lead — click on a name to see their full LinkedIn profile, headline, and ICP score.
  4. Click Approve on leads that match your target, or Reject to skip them.

Approved leads are now in your database and ready to be added to lists and campaigns.
