List Operations

Combine, intersect, and exclude lists to create precise audiences for campaigns.

List operations let you create new lists by merging or filtering existing ones. This is useful for building precise campaign audiences from multiple lead sources.

Combine (union)

Combine merges two or more lists into a new list containing all unique leads from every source.

  1. Go to Lists.
  2. Select two or more lists using the checkboxes.
  3. Click Combine.
  4. Name the new list.
  5. Click Create.

Combine lists dialog

Example: Combine "Sales Leaders — US" and "Sales Leaders — UK" into "Sales Leaders — US + UK" for a campaign targeting both regions.

Intersect

Intersect creates a new list containing only leads that appear in all selected lists.

  1. Select two or more lists.
  2. Click Intersect.
  3. Name the new list.
  4. Click Create.

Example: Intersect "Downloaded Whitepaper" and "Attended Webinar" to find leads who did both — highly engaged prospects.

Exclude

Exclude removes leads from one list that appear in another. This is configured at the campaign level.

  1. Open a campaign's settings.
  2. Under Lead Lists, add your primary list.
  3. Under Exclusion Lists, add the lists to exclude.
  4. Leads appearing in any exclusion list are skipped.

Example: Exclude "Current Customers" from your outbound campaign to avoid contacting people who already bought.
